Cabinet and Community Work

Anusha’s work as Chair of Worcestershire Youth Cabinet ranges from cabinet meetings, chairing roundtable discussions and working with her cabinet to action projects in Worcestershire. Anusha’s work has given her the platform to speak to audiences of young people and elected representatives alike to promote multilateral discussion of salient issues. Some of her most notable cabinet work is outlined below.

National Careers Week 2024

Anusha was invited to speak about Youth Politics, Journalism and careers to an audience of 11 to 18 year olds. Anusha was part of a line up of representatives from Deutsche Bank and Parliament.

British Youth Parliament: Make Your Mark 2024

Anusha spearheaded Worcestershire’s ‘Make Your Mark’ Campaign 2024. In affiliation with British Youth Parliament and British Youth Council, this biannual consultation of Young People involved creating resources for schools in Worcestershire and Ballot Counting.

British Parliament Week 2023: Roundtable with Robin Walker MP

Anusha chaired a roundtable with Robin Walker MP (Worcester), Steve Mackay (Cabinet Member for Children and Families). Worcestershire Youth Cabinet discussed young people in politics, work being done to increase accessibility of politics to all young people in Worcester specifically and in general.

Community Outreach – British Youth Parliament’s Make Your Mark

Anusha, as Chair of Worcestershire Youth Cabinet, was invited to a local primary school in Worcestershire to speak about the importance of political engagement, how to amplify young people’s voices and the importance of grassroots politics.

Budget and Youth Services March 2023

Anusha co-chaired a meeting with Cllr Andy Roberts and Stephen Eccleston to discuss funding and allocation to youth services and the importance of mental health provision in schools and youth groups in Worcester and nationally.

Future of Social Spaces and Play for Young People in Worcestershire – February 2023

Anusha and the Worcestershire Youth Cabinet were invited to consult a committee about the importance and future of safe spaces and zones in Worcester to design and repair youth spaces.
